St. Brigid's Priestess Series researches Celtic Tuath Dé Danann mythology, ancient symbolism and the continued development of acrylic textile painting techniques. The series explores St. Brigit's Priestesses through nineteenth multimedia portraits associated with the nineteen components of the Great Lunar Year, as outlined in Marian Youngblood’s Sidereal View Blog. Youngblood discusses an interconnection to Māyā (Sanskrit: माया), the ancient Vedic term for an illusion of form, the sacred numeric calculation of nineteen and the creation of cyclic pattern divination.
