Throughout the retreat, you will be guided through the creative process in manageable steps, demystifying classic painting techniques and making them more accessible. You will have the space to express your unique perspective while drawing inspiration from Connemara's stunning natural beauty, enigmatic culture and picturesque villages. Renvyle Resort is nestled in the heart of Connemara on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. Our retreat is surrounded by natural beauty and offers easy access to iconic painting locations such as Kylemore Abbey and the Twelve Bens mountain range. Our approach allows you to capture the essence of your surroundings with a blend of indoor work and guided outdoor inspiration, ensuring a comfortable and supportive creative experience.
All art materials will be provided, allowing you to focus entirely on your creative journey without investing in supplies and transporting them upfront. You'll have opportunities to experiment with painting techniques: dry brush, scumbling, washes, stippling, and sgraffito. Discover practical strategies like sketching for reference, quick photo referencing, creating dynamic compositions, mastering atmospheric perspective, glazing and utilising alla prima techniques to bring your canvas to life.
In this nurturing and inspiring environment, we will encourage one another through every brush stroke, celebrating each participant's unique expression. Let's unleash your creativity and elevate your painting skills, transforming how you see and interpret the world around you.

Join me for a pre-retreat Zoom session where we can connect and put names to faces before our gathering! This will be a relaxed opportunity to discuss practical details such as what to bring, how to get there, and what to expect, helping to ensure that you're fully prepared and feel at ease about your travel and packing for the retreat.
Welcome Reception
Forge deeper connections as we start our time together, relax, and settle in. On our first night together, join us for a special welcome reception at Renvyle Resort featuring a dinner at the award-winning Rusheeduff Restaurant to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone.
Meditation, Energy Work &Message
Tuesday, start your incredible creative day with a calming session led by Katie McGreal from Solas Relaxation, our Irish mindfulness expert. Engage in the "Breathe & Be" meditation, which combines mindfulness and relaxation techniques to help you centre your thoughts and cultivate a peaceful mindset, setting a positive tone for your artistic endeavours. Thursday, restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit, empowering you to feel more energised, centred, and connected with yourself and the world. Experience energy work or dry message by Laura Staunton and Ben Dorotich from High Vibrations.
Instruction
Join us for immersive painting with international artist Letitia Hill. You can create en plein air and the studio, working in acrylic or oil painting. Your instructor and her team will be available during the morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. Our sessions will be enriched by the stunning landscapes of Connemara, drawing inspiration from its breathtaking beauty and the rich tapestry of poetry, language, and music that permeates this enchanting region. Prepare for a joyful journey of creative exploration and artistic expression!
Studio
You will have 24-hour access to a fully equipped studio with easels and drawing boards, allowing you to immerse yourself in your creative process at any time that inspires you. This open access ensures that your artistic journey remains uninterrupted, allowing you to fully explore and express your creativity.
All Art Materials Included
All essential art materials will be provided, including acrylic and oil paints, various mediums, brushes, and supports. This will ensure you have everything you need to unleash your creativity and focus on your artistic expression without worrying about sourcing or travelling with supplies.
Stay in Constant Contact
Join our private WhatsApp group, a convenient way to stay in touch during your travels, throughout the retreat, and beyond. Share updates, tips, and support along the way. It allows easy connection with Muireann, Letitia, and the rest of the team, ensuring everyone has a seamless experience.
